Courtesy of www.pharmacytoyou.net Claritin (Loratadine) is a second-generation antihistamine drug closely structurally related to tricyclic antidepressants such as imipramine, and distantly related to the atypical antipsychotic quetiapine, used to treat allergies. It is marketed by Schering-Plough under several trade names such as Claritin, and by Shionogi in Japan. Loratadine (Claritin) is available as a generic drug and is marketed for its non-sedating properties.
