Imitrex nasal spray
Imitrex®, generic name (Sumatriptan) is a nasal spray that contains Sumatriptan. Sumatriptan on the other hand is a white powder that has high level of solubility especially in water and other solvents like saline. It is a chemically designed substance that has the empirical formula of C14H21N302S.
Sumatriptan, being agonistic to the vascular 5-hydroxytryptamine 1 receptor has only weak affinity for 5-HT 1A and other HT receptor subtypes.
