Is it okay to take two antihistamines together?

Question by livie: Is it okay to take two antihistamines together?
My ENT doc gave me Xyzal for allergies and my psychiatrist gave me Vistaril for anxiety. Both are antihistamines, only Vistaril has a sedating effect though. My ENT is out of the office, my psychiatrist isn't sure, and the pharmacists have no clue.
